At Terawatt, we execute humbly and with urgency to provide tailored solutions for fleets that delight our clients and support the transition of transportation.
Role Description
Terawatt Infrastructure is building the sites that will power the rapid expansion of the electric vehicle market. In this role, you will own the execution of design and construction activities for priority EV charging sites, helping deliver the infrastructure needed to support the transition to electrified transportation.
You will manage projects from early development through construction and commissioning, ultimately handing off completed sites to the Terawatt Operations team. This includes coordinating design, managing contractors and vendors, tracking schedules and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope.
The right candidate brings strong technical understanding of construction and site development, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to move projects forward efficiently.
Core Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end management of construction for large-scale EV charging infrastructure projects, including both light- and heavy-duty fleet sites.
- Oversee projects involving greenfield and brownfield development, building demolition or renovation, and on-site energy assets such as battery energy storage, solar photovoltaic systems, and low-emission generators.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and change management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and internal subject matter experts to support project development and execution.
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders through regular reporting and project management meetings.
- Identify and resolve risks or issues that could impact project timelines, cost, or quality.
- Develop and maintain detailed construction budget forecasts and project schedules.
- Evaluate project requirements to identify opportunities for value engineering and schedule acceleration.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams including Business Development, Energy & Utilities, Product, Real Estate, Development, Technology, Site Operations, and Finance.
- Support permitting, utility interconnection coordination, and contractor engagement activities.
- Support and advance the electrification of transportation and TeraWatt’s role in building critical charging infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in construction or project management.
- Experience managing development or construction of new infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency with project management tools and software such as Procore, Smartsheets, Confluence, TestFit, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing creative, non-standard solutions when standard "off-the-shelf" construction methods or utility requirements that challenge a project’s viability.
- Demonstrating experience managing complex civil or electrical infrastructure projects in areas such as:
- Site development and civil construction
- Electrical infrastructure or power systems
- Renewable energy or clean energy development
- EV charging or vehicle electrification
- Commercial or industrial renovations
- Power grid or energy infrastructure
- Freight, fleet transport, or logistics facilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Travel as needed to job sites (anticipated up to 40%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to influence Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) in local utilities in markets such as Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, and New Orleans to accelerate permitting for complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing accurate conceptual budgets from preliminary site plans, with the ability to identify key cost drivers prior to detailed engineering.
- Experience developing modular "kit-of-parts" product selections that enable rapid, repeatable site deployments across different geographic markets and utility jurisdictions.
- Experience identifying high-impact value engineering (VE) opportunities to reduce underground trenching and copper usage while maintaining long-term power scalability.
Compensation for this role is determined by several factors, including the cost of labor in specific geographic markets, and these ranges are intended to provide a helpful reference. The actual compensation offer will be based on the candidate’s location, skills, level of expertise and experience, and internal equity considerations. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and, where applicable, performance-based incentives.
