Insurance Broker Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an insurance broker in Georgia?
To work as an insurance broker in Georgia, you must obtain a producer license through the Georgia Department of Insurance. You choose a line of authority, such as Property and Casualty or Life and Health, complete a state-approved pre-licensing course, pass the corresponding licensing exam administered by Pearson VUE, and submit a license application. A high school diploma is the minimum requirement, though employers increasingly prefer a bachelor's degree in business or finance.
Which companies hire insurance brokers in Georgia?
Employers hiring insurance brokers in Georgia right now include Ignite wealth managment, Vice Media, and Ignite Wealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's deep concentration of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters and financial services firms in the Atlanta metro creates steady commercial lines and employee benefits demand from large agencies and national brokerages alike.
Which Georgia cities have the most insurance broker jobs?
Smyrna, Atlanta, and Alpharetta lead Georgia for insurance broker openings. Atlanta accounts for the majority of postings given its dense cluster of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and regional brokerage offices, while Savannah's port-driven commercial economy and Augusta's growing healthcare sector generate consistent demand for both commercial lines and group benefits producers.
Are there remote insurance broker jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and they are more available than in many fields, since much of the quoting, client communication, and account management work can be done from anywhere. About 100% of insurance broker openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely the industry has adopted flexible arrangements. Renewal management, benefits administration support, and inside sales roles are the positions most likely to be fully remote.
How can I get hired as an insurance broker in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to obtain your Georgia producer license first, then target licensed sales associate or account assistant roles at regional agencies or national brokerages with Georgia offices, where you work alongside senior producers before managing your own book. Aflac, for example, runs structured new-agent programs in Georgia that provide training without requiring prior brokerage experience. Candidates who come from adjacent roles in financial services, banking, or customer account management and who already hold or are actively pursuing their Property and Casualty license stand out most to hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to insurance broker jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to insurance broker jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across specialties, experience levels, and hiring locations. Search the listings, identify roles that match your license type and experience, and apply directly to each one.
