Strategic Finance Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategic finance manager in Georgia?
The path into strategic finance management in Georgia starts with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, followed by several years in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking. Georgia does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers consistently favor candidates who hold a CPA issued through the Georgia State Board of Accountancy or a CFA charter. Progressing through analyst and senior analyst roles at Georgia-headquartered companies is the most common route.
Which companies hire strategic finance managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring strategic finance managers in Georgia right now include Oscar Health, QTS, and Ankura, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and fast-growing technology companies makes Georgia one of the most consistent sources of demand for this role in the Southeast.
Which Georgia cities have the most strategic finance manager jobs?
Atlanta and Duluth account for the largest share of strategic finance manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because of its density of corporate headquarters and regional offices, while Alpharetta draws demand from its established technology and financial services corridor, and Savannah's growth in logistics and manufacturing has steadily added corporate finance roles alongside its traditional port-driven economy.
Are there remote strategic finance manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of strategic finance manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the analytical and advisory work in this role translates to distributed environments. Planning cycles, financial modeling, and executive reporting are the functions most commonly performed remotely, while roles with significant business-partnering or board-level exposure tend to require more in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a strategic finance manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a financial analyst or FP&A analyst role at a large Georgia employer and building toward management over three to five years. Companies such as Delta Air Lines, Honeywell, and Cox Enterprises run structured finance rotational programs that bring in candidates from Georgia universities. Earning a CPA through the Georgia State Board of Accountancy or completing a CFA level strengthens a promotion case considerably, as does lateral experience in corporate development or financial operations.
Where can I find and apply to strategic finance manager jobs in Georgia?
