Strategic Finance Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategic finance manager in Texas?
Most strategic finance managers in Texas enter the role through a finance or accounting bachelor's degree followed by several years in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking. The role carries no state-issued license in Texas, but employers in energy and financial services heavily favor candidates who hold a CFA or CPA. Texas does not require state registration for this position, so career progression hinges on demonstrated modeling experience, business partnering scope, and often a graduate degree from a Texas business school.
Which companies hire strategic finance managers in Texas?
Employers hiring strategic finance managers in Texas right now include Amazon, Equinix, and Celestica, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy headquarters, major technology campuses, and large healthcare systems means openings appear consistently across sectors rather than clustering in a single industry.
Which Texas cities have the most strategic finance manager jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Irving have the most strategic finance manager openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its energy and petrochemical headquarters, while Dallas draws from its dense corporate headquarters corridor and large financial services firms, and Austin's rapid technology sector growth has created significant FP&A and strategic finance demand over the past decade.
Are there remote strategic finance manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 30% of strategic finance manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the largely analytical and presentation-driven nature of the work. The portions most commonly done remotely are financial modeling, reporting, and long-range planning, while business partnering with operations teams tends to require at least occasional in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a strategic finance manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a financial analyst or senior financial analyst role at a large Texas employer. Houston energy majors, Dallas-based corporations, and Austin technology firms regularly hire into rotational finance development programs designed for recent graduates. A CFA candidacy or completed CPA exam gives early-career applicants a measurable edge. Lateral moves from accounting, investment banking, or corporate treasury are common stepping stones that Texas hiring managers recognize as preparation for the strategic finance manager title.
Where can I find and apply to strategic finance manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to strategic finance manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find ones that match your background and target city, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
