Entry Level Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level internal medicine nurse practitioner job?
Employers hiring entry level internal medicine nurse practitioners look for candidates who hold an active NP license and board certification, such as the ANCC or AANP credential. Clinical hours completed during your NP program carry real weight at this stage, so highlight your preceptorship setting and patient population in your application. A concise cover letter explaining your internal medicine focus and your readiness to work under a collaborative practice agreement can give you a clear edge over other new grad applicants.
Which companies hire entry level internal medicine nurse practitioners?
Companies hiring entry level internal medicine nurse practitioners right now include Texas Health Resources, University of Texas Medical Branch, and UNC Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from outpatient primary care groups, hospital-affiliated ambulatory clinics, and large physician practice organizations that have structured onboarding or mentorship programs designed for new graduates.
Are there remote entry level internal medicine nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, though most entry level internal medicine nurse practitioner roles require in-person patient care and are based on-site. About 0% of entry level internal medicine nurse practitioner openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve telehealth consultations, chronic disease management follow-ups, or administrative clinical work that does not require hands-on examination.
Are these new grad internal medicine nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior internal medicine nurse practitioner roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of post-certification experience, counts NP program clinical hours toward the experience requirement, or explicitly invites applications from those who completed internships or preceptorships in an internal medicine or primary care setting.
Which industries hire the most entry level internal medicine nurse practitioners?
Entry Level internal medicine nurse practitioner roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate high-volume outpatient and chronic care settings that depend on nurse practitioners to manage patient panels, freeing physicians for more complex cases and creating consistent demand for newly credentialed clinicians.
