THE OPPORTUNITY
ECI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Specialist to join our Boston team. In this role, you will play a key role in our technical delivery team by working with a Client Technology Manager (CTM), and Senior Engineers to drive the technology programs, including Cloud implementation and support, desktop engineering escalation and networking for a defined portfolio of clients. Using latest and greatest technologies and solutions, you will support the client’s innovation by following a set of standards and best practices in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. In this hybrid role, you may be dedicated to one of our flagship clients or support multiple clients in Boston, MA.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will do:
- Collaborate with, and act as a tier 3 escalation point for Client Technology Management, Service Desk, Engineering and other client support teams
- Provide accurate, comprehensive notes on work performed to account for time spent with customers
- Provide advanced support of cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft 365/Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Provide escalation support on common productivity technologies such as Microsoft 365 modern workplace including Intune
- Implement and manage enterprise mail platform and security systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Google Workspace, Proofpoint Essentials and Mimecast
- Take ownership of complex technical challenges and provide long term fixes based on root cause analysis
- Document processes and procedures which explain system functionality or regular tasks to contribute to our internal knowledge base including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Apply best-practice configurations to client security platforms such as Azure Active Directory Conditional Access, DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA) services, and zero-trust services such as Cloudflare and iBoss
- Provide high-level consultation on information security fundamentals such as good password hygiene practices, multi-factor authentication recommendations and social-engineering defense
- Perform system maintenance tasks including software and operating system patching, software version upgrades, critical patch applications, and vulnerability remediation
- Provide support of Active Directory such as Domain Controller upgrades, Group Policy creation, scheduled software deployments, network policy maintenance, and certificate management
- Interface with common technology support tools such as Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), Mobile Device/Mobile Application Management, Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery and participate in after-hours client project implementations, migrations, and upgrades
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field, or 3+ years comparable experience in a technology administration role
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Intermediate understanding of networking concepts: Routing, Switching, network security, hardware and software VPN clients
- Proficient with deployment and troubleshooting of operating systems and applications
- Android/iOS configuration, troubleshooting and integration with MDM solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 modern workplace including Intune
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Experience with cyber-security concepts (Multi-Factor Authentication, Endpoint protection, Web and Mail security platforms)
- Ability to perform patching and maintenance of systems
- Experience with backup configuration and data recovery
- Familiarity with enterprise management tools and tasks (vulnerability management, event management, RMM)
- Experience using PowerShell to manage Microsoft products
- Proficient in incident response management during security events and high-priority escalations, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity activations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP) preferred
- Financial Services or Life Science industry experience a plus
- Certifications in cloud services, network management or cyber-security, such as CCNA, CISSP, Azure Fundamentals and VCP a plus but not required
- Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix digital workspace platform
