INTRODUCTION
Hajoca Corporation is one of the country’s largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca is a company based on the principles of “Service, Integrity, Reliability,” and on relationships of trust and support with teammates, customers, and suppliers. Throughout its history, Hajoca has played an active role in shaping advances in plumbing. However, we attribute our success to two simple truths; a unique business philosophy and talented people. Hajoca is all about the people, who give us our advantage, and who will guide us successfully into the future.
Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.
All Tex Pipe & Supply is one of those trade names and is looking for a Sales and Leadership Trainee at their Austin, TX location.
Are you looking to pursue a long-term career in sales, business operations, or management? Do you have a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn? Do you enjoy interacting with people and building relationships? If so, then we’d like you to join our team as a Sales & Leadership Trainee.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Sales & Leadership Development program is a multi-year rotational program aimed at investing in each trainee's future by providing exposure to all aspects of our business. During the program, we work in a structured, thorough manner to develop an aligned understanding of your skill set and long-term career goals.
- Live into your dreams. We'll pair your passion, skill set, and career goals with our business needs. When the program is complete, you'll have the opportunity to pursue a long-term career in sales, operations management, profit center management, or a variety of other career paths that suit your individual goals and the needs of the business.
- Learn the business. Your learning path will include on-the-job experience supplemented with coaching from experienced managers, book and computer courses, and visits with customers and vendors. You'll learn about all aspects of our business (including warehouse procedures, operations, and sales) with guidance along the way from mentors and managers.
HERE'S A LOOK AT WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH IN EACH PHASE:

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding J-1 Visa Sponsorship as a Sales And Marketing Manager
Frame your training plan around marketing competencies
Designated sponsors require a detailed training plan tied to measurable skill development. Map your objectives to specific marketing functions like campaign strategy, CRM analytics, or sales pipeline management before approaching a sponsor organization.
Verify your host employer understands DS-2019 obligations
Many U.S. companies confuse J-1 host responsibilities with direct visa sponsorship. Confirm the employer is willing to coordinate with a designated sponsor, sign the training agreement, and provide a qualified workplace supervisor before accepting any offer.
Target B2B and SaaS companies with international operations
Marketing and sales teams at companies with global customer bases routinely work with international professionals on structured training programs. These employers are more familiar with J-1 host requirements than domestic-focused small businesses.
Search Migrate Mate to find J-1-aligned roles
Use Migrate Mate to identify U.S. employers advertising Sales and Marketing Manager positions that align with J-1 program structures, saving time you would otherwise spend screening companies unfamiliar with exchange visitor requirements.
Check the home residency requirement before committing
Some J-1 Trainee and Specialist participants are subject to a two-year home residency requirement after program completion, depending on their country of origin and funding source. Confirm your status with your designated sponsor before signing an offer.
Document your degree and professional experience precisely
Sponsors require evidence that your academic or professional background directly relates to your proposed training. Gather transcripts, employment letters, and a current resume that clearly connects your marketing or sales credentials to the specific competencies in your program plan.
Sales And Marketing Manager J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category fits a Sales and Marketing Manager role?
The Trainee category applies if you have a degree and at least one year of relevant work experience, or five or more years of professional experience without a degree. The Specialist category fits experienced professionals with expertise in a specialized field. Either category requires a designated sponsor organization to issue your DS-2019 and a U.S. host employer to provide the training environment.
Who actually sponsors my J-1 visa if an employer hires me?
The hiring company is your host employer, not your visa sponsor. Your J-1 visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization, such as Cultural Vistas or AIPT, that issues the DS-2019 form, approves your training plan, and monitors your program compliance. The host employer cooperates with the sponsor but does not hold sponsor designation itself.
How do I find U.S. employers open to hosting a J-1 Sales and Marketing Manager?
Migrate Mate lets you search for Sales and Marketing Manager positions at U.S. companies that align with J-1 exchange visitor program structures, filtering out roles where international program participation is unlikely. This narrows your search to employers already familiar with or open to hosting international professionals under a structured training arrangement.
What does a J-1 training plan for a marketing or sales role need to include?
Your designated sponsor will require a phase-by-phase breakdown of the skills you will develop, the activities involved, supervision arrangements, and measurable outcomes. For a Sales and Marketing Manager role, this typically covers areas like market analysis, lead generation systems, budget management, and cross-functional campaign coordination, tied to specific timeframes across your program duration.
Does the two-year home residency requirement apply to marketing professionals on J-1?
It depends on your country of origin and whether your program is government-funded or involves a field on the Exchange Visitor Skills List. Marketing and sales roles generally do not trigger the requirement automatically, but applicants from certain countries or those funded by their home government may be subject to it. Your designated sponsor can confirm your specific situation before you finalize plans.
