Description
SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm
Pay rate: $18.60/hour
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a microbiology laboratory. Duties usually consist of setting samples for microbial testing; making dilutions of food and environmental samples, setting samples for pathogens testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards.
- Determines microbial loads in food and environmental samples.
- Sets up, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards.
- Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results.
- Cleans laboratory equipment.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
