Management Consultant Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a management consultant in Hawaii?
Most management consultant roles in Hawaii require at minimum a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or public administration, with many employers expecting an MBA for senior positions. There is no state-issued license specific to management consulting in Hawaii. Candidates who pursue certifications such as the Project Management Professional or Certified Management Consultant designation stand out in a competitive market that skews heavily toward government, defense, and hospitality clients.
Which companies hire management consultants in Hawaii?
Companies currently hiring management consultants in Hawaii include First Hawaiian Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Aon, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's consulting market is shaped by federal defense contracts and state government modernization initiatives, so firms with public-sector practices tend to post the most consistently.
Which Hawaii cities have the most management consultant jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Hawaii account for the largest share of management consultant openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates because it is home to state government offices, major federal installations including the Pacific Command, and the headquarters of Hawaii's largest healthcare and hospitality employers, while growth in Kapolei and Kailua-Kona reflects expanding commercial and government operations outside the capital.
Are there remote management consultant jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than most fields, given that consulting work is largely analytical and deliverable-based rather than tied to a physical site. About 40% of management consultant openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the project-driven nature of the work. Strategy, data analysis, and program management engagements are the most commonly structured as fully remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a management consultant in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an analyst or associate consultant role at a firm with a Hawaii office, such as Booz Allen Hamilton or Deloitte, both of which recruit new graduates for federal and commercial projects in Honolulu. Candidates from adjacent roles in project coordination, financial analysis, or public administration at state agencies transition into consulting regularly. Pursuing a Project Management Professional certification or completing a graduate business program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa strengthens early-career applications considerably.
Where can I find and apply to management consultant jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to management consultant jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Honolulu and other Hawaii locations. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to each listing without creating a profile or signing up.
