The typical path moves from associate or senior product manager through a principal or group PM role before reaching director level. In Hawaii's market, building experience within industries prominent on the islands, such as hospitality technology, financial services, or defense contracting, meaningfully strengthens a candidate's profile.
How much do Director, product managements make in Hawaii?
Director, product managements in Hawaii earn a median of about $117,770 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,610 for the lowest 10% to over $218,210 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director, product managements in Hawaii?
Employers hiring director, product managements in Hawaii right now include First Hawaiian Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton, and MC&A Destination Management Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's mix of defense contractors, regional banks, airlines, and state government technology initiatives means director-level product roles appear across a wider range of sectors than many comparable markets.
Which Hawaii cities have the most director, product management jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Hawaii account for the largest share of director, product management openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the majority of listings as the state's primary corporate, government, and technology hub, while Maui and Kailua-Kona contribute openings tied to hospitality technology and regional business operations anchored by employers with multi-island footprints.
Are there remote director, product management jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 36% of director, product management openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on strategy, stakeholder alignment, and digital collaboration rather than on-site presence. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include roadmap planning, cross-functional syncs, and executive reporting, though Hawaii-based employers sometimes require in-person availability for key leadership gatherings.
How can I get hired as a director, product management in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building your record as a senior product manager in one of Hawaii's anchor industries before pursuing director-level roles. Hawaiian Airlines, First Hawaiian Bank, and the state's growing defense technology sector occasionally bring in candidates from adjacent roles such as program manager, business analyst, or product operations lead. Earning a recognized product certification and assembling a portfolio that demonstrates roadmap ownership and measurable outcomes gives candidates without a long title history a concrete edge when applying to these employers.
