Senior Clinical Project Manager Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior clinical project manager in Hawaii?
Most senior clinical project managers in Hawaii enter the field through a clinical or healthcare background, typically holding a bachelor's degree in nursing, life sciences, or public health and advancing through coordinator or associate project manager roles. While Hawaii does not issue a state-specific license for clinical project managers, employers consistently require credentials such as PMP or CCRA certification. Queen's Medical Center, Hawaii Pacific Health, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa's research programs are common pathways for building Hawaii-based clinical project management experience.
How much do senior clinical project managers make in Hawaii?
Senior clinical project managers in Hawaii earn a median of about $78,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $53,930 for the lowest 10% to over $150,440 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior clinical project managers in Hawaii?
Companies currently hiring senior clinical project managers in Hawaii include County of Hawaii, BAYADA Home Health Care, and The Queen's Medical Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's integrated health systems and federally funded research programs at institutions like the University of Hawaii create consistent demand for senior-level clinical project leadership.
Which Hawaii cities have the most senior clinical project manager jobs?
Honolulu, Hilo, and Hawaii have the most senior clinical project manager openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the majority of opportunities as the home of the state's largest health systems and clinical research infrastructure, while Hilo and Maui County reflect growing regional hospital networks and community health initiatives that increasingly require dedicated project management at the senior level.
Are there remote senior clinical project manager jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than many clinical roles, because senior clinical project managers spend much of their time on documentation, vendor coordination, and regulatory review rather than direct patient care. About 20% of senior clinical project manager openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility. Protocol development, sponsor communication, and data oversight are the functions most commonly performed remotely in these roles.
How can I get hired as a senior clinical project manager in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a clinical research coordinator or project coordinator role at one of Hawaii's major health systems, then building toward senior responsibilities over time. Hawaii Pacific Health and The Queen's Health Systems both onboard coordinators without extensive prior research backgrounds through structured orientation programs. Completing a certificate in clinical research or obtaining a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator credential gives candidates a concrete edge, and adjacent roles in healthcare administration or regulatory affairs at community health centers across the state also serve as strong lateral entry points.
Where can I find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
