About the Role

Nucentra Solutions is seeking a Quality and Manufacturing Manager to build and run our quality function and to own the manufacturing engineering that defines how we build.

On the quality side, the role owns the quality management system, inspection and test, non-conformance and corrective action, supplier and incoming quality, and customer quality relationships. It is Nucentra's lead with certification bodies and regulatory agencies, including UL, ISO registrars, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and others as our products and customers require.

On the manufacturing side, the role leads the manufacturing and quality engineers who define build methods, work instructions, routings, tooling and standard hours for each product line, and who drive productivity and first-pass quality with the Foremen.

What You Will Own

Quality System and Compliance

● Build, document and maintain the quality management system to ISO 9001 and customer requirements, and lead it through certification and surveillance audits.

● Serve as Nucentra's primary contact with UL and other listing agencies, ISO registrars, TDLR and other regulatory bodies: applications, inspections, follow-up and ongoing compliance.

● Maintain the certifications, labels, records and procedures these programs require, and make sure the floor follows them every day.

● Own document control for quality procedures, inspection plans and records.

Inspection, Test and Problem Solving

● Lead the quality inspectors across incoming, in-process and final inspection and test, including customer witness points.

● Run the non-conformance, root cause and corrective action process and close actions out with Production, Engineering and suppliers.

● Manage customer quality relationships: audits, complaints, warranty claims and quality reporting.

● Own supplier and incoming quality, including receiving inspection and supplier corrective actions with Supply Chain.

Manufacturing Engineering

● Lead the manufacturing and quality engineers in defining build methods, work instructions, routings, tooling and standard hours per unit.

● Drive productivity, hours-per-unit reduction and first-pass quality improvements with the Production Foremen.

● Support new product and new program introduction with process planning, inspection plans and first-article builds.

● Establish the measurement and test equipment, calibration program and test procedures the products need.

What We Are Looking For

● Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

● 10+ years in quality or manufacturing engineering in fabricated metal, electrical equipment, enclosures, switchgear or packaged industrial equipment, with at least 5 years leading a quality function.

● Direct experience working with UL or other listing agencies, ISO 9001 registrars and state regulatory bodies such as TDLR, including audits, inspections and corrective actions.

● Experience building or substantially upgrading a quality management system and taking it through certification.

● Strong root cause and corrective action skills (8D, 5 Why or similar) and experience managing customer quality relationships with major OEMs.

● Manufacturing engineering experience: work instructions, routings, standard hours, tooling and process improvement.

● Working knowledge of welding and fabrication quality (AWS D1.1), electrical panel standards (UL 508A, UL 891, NEC) and inspection and test methods.

● ASQ CQE, CMQ/OE or Lead Auditor certification preferred.

The Person Who Will Succeed in This Role

You have built a quality system before and you know the difference between a binder that passes an audit and a system the floor actually uses. You are comfortable in front of a UL inspector, a customer auditor and a Foreman with a non-conformance, and you treat all three as partners in getting it right.

You care about how the product is built, not only how it is inspected. You use data to find the problem and you follow the corrective action until it sticks.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means:

● Nucentra holds the certifications and listings its products and customers require, and passes audits without major findings.

● First-pass quality rises, and customer complaints and warranty claims fall.

● Non-conformances are closed with real root cause and corrective action, on time.

● Work instructions, routings and standard hours exist for every product line and are kept current.

● Hours per unit come down as manufacturing engineering and the Foremen work the problems together.

Performance is measured against agreed targets for audit results, first-pass yield, customer complaints and warranty, corrective action closure and hours per unit, set with leadership and reviewed monthly.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
