- Communicate proactively and meet deadlines for the timely completion of project pursuits and proposals.
- Assist with procurement research, review, and coordination, and/or facilitation of client engagement activities, conferences, and client events.
- Conduct quality and compliance reviews; edit marketing content for accuracy, clarity, tone, and consistency.
- Gather, verify, organize, and maintain marketing information systems, including client files, resumes, project descriptions, and contact lists.
- Enter and maintain pursuit and opportunity data in Deltek Vantagepoint, ensuring records are complete, current, and aligned with firm standards.
Success in this role:
Within the first 6–12 months, you will:
- Develop a strong understanding of the proposal lifecycle and Olsson's pursuit process
- Independently support proposal coordination and production tasks
- Produce high-quality, brand-aligned marketing materials
- Build effective working relationships with marketing, technical, and business development teams
- Manage multiple deadlines with increasing confidence and accountability

Marketing Assistant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing assistant in Texas?
The most direct path to becoming a marketing assistant in Texas is earning a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or business from a Texas university or college. Unlike some fields, marketing assistants in Texas do not require a state-issued license or board registration. Texas employers typically expect candidates to have a portfolio of marketing work, such as campaigns, social media projects, or coursework samples, alongside relevant coursework or internship experience.
How much do marketing assistants make in Texas?
Marketing assistants in Texas earn a median of about $72,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,640 for the lowest 10% to over $135,710 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing assistants in Texas?
Employers hiring marketing assistants in Texas right now include Baylor University, Dallas Baptist University, and HDR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of corporate headquarters, large retailers, and healthcare systems means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than clustered in a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most marketing assistant jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio have the most marketing assistant openings in Texas. Houston and Dallas lead because of their dense concentrations of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and retail chains, while Austin's fast-growing technology and consumer brand sector drives consistent demand for marketing support roles across companies of all sizes.
Are there remote marketing assistant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 7% of marketing assistant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on digital content, email campaigns, and analytics rather than in-person tasks. Digital content creation, social media scheduling, and campaign reporting are the functions most commonly handled fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a marketing assistant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for coordinator or marketing associate roles at Texas-based retailers, healthcare systems, or regional agencies that routinely hire new graduates. Large Texas employers like H-E-B and CHRISTUS Health run structured internship and new-grad programs that convert to full-time marketing roles. Building a portfolio through freelance projects, university clinic campaigns, or student-run marketing organizations gives candidates a concrete edge, and a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification signals readiness to hiring managers even without formal work history.
Where can I find and apply to marketing assistant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to marketing assistant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas employers across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and beyond. Search for roles that match your experience level and preferred location, then apply directly to the listings that fit.
