Marketing Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a marketing job in Minneapolis?
Target the sectors that hire most heavily in Minneapolis: retail and consumer brands, health systems, financial services, and agencies clustered in the North Loop and downtown core. Candidates with experience in content strategy, digital advertising, or brand management move fastest here. Building familiarity with Minnesota's strong retail and healthcare ecosystems and demonstrating local market knowledge gives you a concrete edge over candidates applying from outside the city.
Which companies hire marketings in Minneapolis?
Companies currently hiring marketings in Minneapolis include Thrivent, Graco, and Miracle-Ear, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minneapolis draws a broad mix of large corporate headquarters, regional health networks, and independent creative and digital agencies, giving marketers options across in-house brand teams and client-side agency work.
Are there remote marketing jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: content, SEO, paid media, and marketing analytics positions are far more remote-friendly than event, field, or retail marketing roles. About 44% of marketing openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a market where large corporate employers and agencies have broadly retained flexible arrangements. Digital and demand-generation specialists find the most fully remote options locally.
How can I get a marketing job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Minneapolis is through coordinator or marketing assistant roles at the city's large consumer brands, health systems, or the boutique agencies concentrated in the North Loop. Many local employers hire entry-level candidates into social media, email, or event support functions before moving them into specialized tracks. A portfolio of freelance or internship work tied to recognizable Minneapolis brands or nonprofits strengthens applications significantly in this market.
Which industries hire the most marketings in Minneapolis?
Minneapolis marketing roles concentrate in Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minneapolis's status as a national headquarters city for retail, financial services, and health companies means marketing departments here tend to be large, well-resourced, and hiring across multiple specialties simultaneously.
