Sales Consultant Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales consultant in Minnesota?
Most sales consultant roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some employers accept equivalent experience. For consultants selling insurance or securities products, the Minnesota Department of Commerce requires a state-issued license specific to those lines of business. Candidates typically begin in inside sales or account coordinator roles and advance through demonstrated performance, product training, and employer-led development programs.
Which companies hire sales consultants in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring sales consultants in Minnesota include Walser Automotive, Prime Communications, and Comcast, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and financial services firms makes it one of the more consistent markets in the Midwest for sales consultant openings.
Which Minnesota cities have the most sales consultant jobs?
Minneapolis, Richfield, and Burnsville have the most sales consultant openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro drives the majority of demand given its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare technology companies, and financial services firms, while Rochester's strong medical and technology sector and Duluth's regional trade and distribution activity create consistent opportunities outside the main metro.
Are there remote sales consultant jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields. About 42% of sales consultant openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on phone, video, and digital outreach. Inside sales, SaaS account management, and financial consulting positions are the most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a sales consultant in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to inside sales representative or sales development representative roles, which large Minnesota employers such as UnitedHealth Group, Ecolab, and Best Buy regularly post as entry-level positions. Many of these companies run structured new-hire training programs that teach product knowledge and sales methodology from the ground up. Completing a relevant internship, earning a professional sales certificate from a Minnesota college, or moving laterally from customer service or retail management are approaches that give candidates a clear edge.
Where can I find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, industry preference, and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
