Inside Sales Representative Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a inside sales representative in Minnesota?
Inside sales representative roles in Minnesota do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most employers look for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications, though some technology and healthcare device companies hire candidates with an associate degree and strong phone sales experience. Building skills in CRM software, completing a sales development certificate through a community college like Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and gaining experience in a customer-facing or account management role are the most reliable steps into this field in Minnesota.
Which companies hire inside sales representatives in Minnesota?
Employers hiring inside sales representatives in Minnesota right now include US LBM Holdings, Builders FirstSource, and ooma, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of medical technology firms, enterprise software companies, and financial services organizations means hiring is particularly active for inside sales professionals with industry-specific product knowledge.
Which Minnesota cities have the most inside sales representative jobs?
The cities with the most inside sales representative openings in Minnesota are Minneapolis, Plymouth, and Saint Paul. The Twin Cities account for the majority of postings because that is where the corporate headquarters and regional offices of Minnesota's largest employers in healthcare technology, insurance, and enterprise software are based, while Rochester's concentration of medical and life sciences employers drives additional demand outside the metro.
Are there remote inside sales representative jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields, because inside sales work is conducted entirely by phone, video, and email and does not require a physical presence with customers. About 50% of inside sales representative openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well-suited the role is for distributed work. Roles in SaaS, insurance, and financial services tend to offer the most fully remote arrangements, while medical device and specialty distribution roles more often require hybrid schedules tied to a Minnesota office.
How can I get hired as a inside sales representative in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business development representative or sales development representative role, which large Minnesota employers in technology and healthcare regularly post as entry-level positions designed for candidates without prior quota-carrying experience. Companies like Medtronic and UnitedHealth Group run structured onboarding programs for new sales hires, and regional software firms in the Twin Cities frequently hire recent graduates into SDR roles with formal training tracks. A completed Salesforce Administrator certification or a HubSpot sales certificate strengthens a resume for these openings, as does any customer service, retail, or account coordination experience that demonstrates communication skills.
Where can I find and apply to inside sales representative jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to inside sales representative jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state updated in real time. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
