National Sales Manager Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a national sales manager in Minnesota?
Most national sales managers in Minnesota start with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline and then build experience in field or account sales roles before moving into management. There is no state-issued license required for the role in Minnesota. Employers in high-regulation sectors like medical devices or financial services often require industry-specific credentials such as Series 7 licensure or proof of compliance training, which are administered through the relevant federal or FINRA-governed bodies rather than a Minnesota state board.
How much do national sales managers make in Minnesota?
National sales managers in Minnesota earn a median of about $151,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,900 for the lowest 10% to over $258,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire national sales managers in Minnesota?
Employers hiring national sales managers in Minnesota right now include Skylight, US Foods, and Fiji Water, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's strong concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and medical technology companies means demand is particularly consistent for candidates with enterprise or healthcare solutions sales backgrounds.
Which Minnesota cities have the most national sales manager jobs?
The cities with the most national sales manager openings in Minnesota are Minneapolis, Plymouth, and Eagan. The Twin Cities metro drives the largest share because Minneapolis and Saint Paul together host the headquarters of major corporations in medical devices, financial services, food manufacturing, and enterprise software, while Rochester's concentration in healthcare and IBM creates its own steady pipeline for senior sales leadership roles.
Are there remote national sales manager jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and they are more common than in many other leadership roles, since national sales managers oversee distributed teams and accounts that rarely require a fixed on-site presence. About 100% of national sales manager openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely companies have accepted location flexibility for this level. Strategic planning, pipeline review, and team coaching are the functions most often performed remotely, while key account visits and leadership offsites typically require travel.
How can I get hired as a national sales manager in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a structured sales development or inside sales role at a large Minnesota employer and building a record of quota attainment before pursuing a management title. Companies like 3M, Medtronic, and Cargill run formal sales leadership development programs that identify high performers for team lead and manager tracks. Candidates coming from adjacent roles such as account executive, regional sales director, or business development manager are the strongest lateral moves, and earning a Certified Professional Sales Leader designation through the NASP helps signal readiness for the step up.
Where can I find and apply to national sales manager jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to national sales manager jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
