Sales Assistant Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales assistant in Minnesota?
Most sales assistant roles in Minnesota require a high school diploma and are filled through direct employer hiring, with no state-issued license required for general retail or inside sales work. Candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field are preferred for B2B and corporate sales support roles. Minnesota employers commonly value prior customer service experience and familiarity with inventory or CRM platforms over formal credentials.
Which companies hire sales assistants in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring sales assistants in Minnesota include Target, Walser Automotive, and Cintas, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's strong retail, medical device, and financial services sectors mean sales assistant demand stays broad across both corporate headquarters and regional branch offices throughout the state.
Which Minnesota cities have the most sales assistant jobs?
Minneapolis, Eagan, and Woodbury have the most sales assistant openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro dominates because it is home to major retail and corporate headquarters including Target and Best Buy, while Rochester draws openings tied to healthcare and medical device companies, and Duluth supports regional wholesale and distribution roles.
Are there remote sales assistant jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many sales assistant roles involve in-store support or face-to-face customer interaction. About 60% of sales assistant openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with those positions mostly covering inside sales support, order coordination, and CRM administration functions that do not require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a sales assistant in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to retail associate or sales floor positions at large Minnesota-based retailers such as Target or Best Buy, both of which regularly hire candidates without prior sales experience and provide structured onboarding. Entry-level customer service roles at Minnesota financial firms like U.S. Bank or Ameriprise Financial also serve as a common stepping stone into sales support. Completing a retail or sales certificate through a Minnesota State community college campus can strengthen an application.
Where can I find and apply to sales assistant jobs in Minnesota?
