Inside Sales Specialist Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an inside sales specialist in Minnesota?
Most Minnesota employers require at minimum a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing strengthens your candidacy significantly. Inside sales specialist roles carry no state-issued license in Minnesota, so the path runs through education and demonstrated sales skills. Building proficiency in a CRM platform, completing an employer-run sales development program, and gaining experience in a Minnesota industry such as medical devices or financial services are the most reliable steps toward a full specialist role.
How much do inside sales specialists make in Minnesota?
Inside sales specialists in Minnesota earn a median of about $75,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $40,810 for the lowest 10% to over $146,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire inside sales specialists in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring inside sales specialists in Minnesota include Goodin Company, ABC Supply Co., and Boise Cascade, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of medical device manufacturers, large insurance and financial services firms, and technology solution providers means consistent inside sales hiring across a broad range of product lines.
Which Minnesota cities have the most inside sales specialist jobs?
The cities with the most inside sales specialist openings in Minnesota are Eagan, Duluth, and Mankato. The Twin Cities metro anchors the market because it hosts the headquarters of major employers in healthcare, financial services, and technology, while Rochester's medical corridor and St. Cloud's growing distribution sector generate additional openings outside the metro.
Are there remote inside sales specialist jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields, since inside sales work is inherently phone- and screen-based and does not require a physical presence at a customer site. About 0% of inside sales specialist openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role adapts to distributed teams. Roles focused on SaaS, cloud solutions, and financial products tend to carry the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as an inside sales specialist in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development representative role, which large Minnesota employers in medical devices and technology use as a structured on-ramp to full inside sales positions. Companies such as Medtronic and regional technology distributors based in the Twin Cities regularly hire for these associate-level roles. A completed associate or bachelor's degree, a working knowledge of Salesforce, and a cold-call or prospecting exercise during the interview process can offset a thin resume and open the door quickly.
Where can I find and apply to inside sales specialist jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to inside sales specialist jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles available, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred industry, and apply directly to each listing that fits.
