Inside Sales Specialist Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a inside sales specialist in Pennsylvania?
Most inside sales specialist roles in Pennsylvania do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. The practical path is to build foundational skills in outbound prospecting, CRM management, and consultative selling, then apply to entry-level sales development or account representative roles at Pennsylvania-based companies in technology, financial services, or healthcare IT, where the hiring volume is highest.
How much do inside sales specialists make in Pennsylvania?
Inside sales specialists in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $64,480 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,270 for the lowest 10% to over $133,980 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire inside sales specialists in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring inside sales specialists in Pennsylvania right now include Tosoh, Komatsu, and ALMO, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of financial services firms, regional health systems, and B2B technology companies means steady, recurring demand for inside sales talent across the state.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most inside sales specialist jobs?
Exton, Wayne, and Altoona have the most inside sales specialist openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense concentration of financial services companies, insurance carriers, and enterprise technology firms, while Pittsburgh's growing tech and healthcare sectors drive demand there, and the Lehigh Valley's expanding logistics and manufacturing base contributes a meaningful share of openings.
Are there remote inside sales specialist jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, because inside sales is inherently phone-based and screen-based work that translates well to remote environments. About 38% of inside sales specialist openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this role have embraced distributed work. Outbound prospecting, product demonstrations, and account management tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a inside sales specialist in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative role, which large Pennsylvania employers in technology and financial services use to bring in candidates without prior sales experience and train them on outbound outreach and pipeline building. Companies like Comcast and regional insurance and fintech firms in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regularly hire for SDR and associate account representative positions that serve as a direct track into inside sales. A completed coursework background in business or marketing, a working knowledge of any CRM tool, and a demonstrable comfort with phone communication give candidates a meaningful edge over other applicants without direct experience.
