Marketing Support Specialist Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing support specialist in Hawaii?
Most marketing support specialist positions in Hawaii require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a closely related field, though some employers accept an associate degree combined with relevant work experience. Hawaii does not issue a state license or registration for this role. Candidates strengthen their competitiveness by building a portfolio of campaign or content work and earning platform certifications from providers like Google or HubSpot before applying to Hawaii employers.
Which companies hire marketing support specialists in Hawaii?
Employers hiring marketing support specialists in Hawaii right now include Hilton Grand Vacations, Travel + Leisure, and Marriott Vacations Worldwide, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's hospitality, healthcare, and retail sectors drive consistent demand, meaning large resort brands and regional hospital networks are among the most active hiring organizations on the island.
Which Hawaii cities have the most marketing support specialist jobs?
Honolulu, Lahaina, and Waikoloa have the most marketing support specialist openings in Hawaii. Honolulu accounts for the large majority of postings because it is home to the state's corporate headquarters, major resort brands, and healthcare systems, while Maui and Kailua-Kona see steady activity driven by tourism operators and regional retail businesses that maintain local marketing teams.
Are there remote marketing support specialist jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than many fields, because marketing support work centers on digital tools, content management, and remote-friendly platforms. About 36% of marketing support specialist openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry norms. Campaign coordination, copywriting, and social media management are the sub-functions most likely to be offered on a remote or hybrid basis by Hawaii employers.
How can I get hired as a marketing support specialist in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for marketing coordinator or marketing assistant roles at Hawaii's large hospitality companies and healthcare networks, which regularly onboard early-career candidates. Organizations like Hilton Grand Vacations and Hawaii Pacific Health have brought on entry-level marketing staff to support established teams. Candidates moving laterally from customer service, front desk, or administrative roles in Hawaii's resort and retail sectors often get traction, and a portfolio showing even student or volunteer campaign work gives a measurable edge over applicants with no samples.
