We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer specializing in Piping and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Design to join our dynamic engineering team. This role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a strong background in mechanical systems, building information modeling (BIM), and industrial or manufacturing engineering. As a key contributor, you will lead the design, analysis, and development of piping and HVAC systems for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes. Duties
- Develop detailed piping and HVAC system designs using advanced CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and Revit for building information modeling (BIM)
- Create precise mechanical drawings, schematics, and mechanical detail drawings that adhere to ASME standards and industry best practices
- Perform tolerance analysis, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and system simulations using MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW to validate design integrity
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to optimize performance
- Manage project scheduling, coordinate cross-functional communication with electrical, structural, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of systems
- Utilize 3D modeling for product design and mechanical product development projects to enhance accuracy and visualization
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure manufacturing precision in mechanical components
- Lead project management efforts by tracking milestones, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; PE license is required with active licensure in relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on piping and HVAC system design
- Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Revit (for BIM), and other CAD tools for mechanical drafting and 3D modeling
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles including machine design, tolerance analysis, system design, and mechanical detail drawings
- Familiarity with engineering standards such as ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels and piping systems
- Experience with FEA software like ANSYS or similar for structural analysis; proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for system simulation is a plus
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using systematic approaches; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous
