Entry Level Middle School Teacher Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level middle school teacher job?
Most entry level middle school teacher positions require a state teaching license or certification, so completing your student teaching hours and passing required licensure exams are the first priorities. Highlighting classroom experience from practicums, substitute teaching, or tutoring strengthens your application. A lesson plan portfolio demonstrating subject mastery and age-appropriate instruction gives hiring principals a concrete reason to call you first.
Which companies hire entry level middle school teachers?
Companies hiring entry level middle school teachers right now include Uncommon Schools, San Francisco Unified School District, and Zeta Charter Schools, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level comes from public school districts, charter networks, and private or faith-based schools, many of which actively recruit new graduates through campus partnerships and student teaching placement programs.
Are there remote entry level middle school teacher jobs?
Yes, though most middle school teaching roles remain on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 0% of entry level middle school teacher openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, typically found in virtual charter schools, online tutoring platforms, and curriculum development roles that do not require daily in-person classroom instruction.
Are these new grad middle school teacher jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles specifically suited to candidates entering the profession for the first time. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts student teaching or practicum hours in place of full-time classroom experience, or explicitly invites candidates who are newly licensed or in the process of completing their certification.
Which industries hire the most entry level middle school teachers?
Entry Level middle school teacher roles concentrate in Education, Government & Public Sector, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026.
