MRI Technologist Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a mri technologist in Colorado?
To work as an mri technologist in Colorado, you need to complete an accredited radiologic technology or MRI-focused program and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists MR examination to earn ARRT (MR) certification. Colorado does not issue a separate state MRI license, but most employers require active ARRT certification as the standard credential. Many Colorado hospitals and imaging centers also expect current BLS certification before you start.
How much do MRI technologists make in Colorado?
MRI technologists in Colorado earn a median of about $105,380 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $84,460 for the lowest 10% to over $122,980 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire mri technologists in Colorado?
Colorado mri technologist roles are posted by UCHealth, Shared Medical Services, and Invision Sally Jobe and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's large integrated health systems and independent outpatient imaging networks both post regularly, giving candidates options from academic medical centers to community-based clinics.
Which Colorado cities have the most mri technologist jobs?
Denver, Greeley, and Louisville consistently have the most mri technologist openings in Colorado. The Denver metro drives the largest share of postings because of its concentration of major hospital systems, specialty clinics, and imaging networks, while Colorado Springs and Aurora generate steady demand from their own regional medical centers and outpatient facilities serving large surrounding populations.
Are there remote mri technologist jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they're rare. MRI technology is a hands-on clinical role that requires operating equipment and working directly with patients, so almost all positions are on-site. About 0% of mri technologist openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve teleradiology support, scheduling coordination, or training roles rather than direct patient scanning.
How can I get hired as a mri technologist in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate or trainee MRI positions at large Colorado health systems like UCHealth and SCL Health, both of which periodically run structured onboarding programs for candidates who hold ARRT (MR) eligibility but have limited clinical hours. Radiologic technologists with RT(R) credentials already working in X-ray or CT at Colorado hospitals often transition into MRI through internal cross-training opportunities. Completing a dedicated MRI clinical rotation during your program at a Colorado facility also gives hiring managers a reason to take a chance on a less-experienced candidate.
Where can I find and apply to mri technologist jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to mri technologist jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to whichever fit.
