INTRODUCTION

Tower Health has partnered with Drexel University College of Medicine to open a new medical school one-half mile walking distance from Reading Hospital, a regional medical campus for Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health. The school opened in 2021 and is currently accepting enrollment applications for the second class in 2024. In addition, Reading Hospital is the main training hospital for the medical school and supports ACGME accredited residency and fellowship programs.
ROLE
Neonatologist – Level III NICU – Philadelphia, PA – Academic Appointment
St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is recruiting a full-time BC/BE Neonatologist to join our team. As part of a multi-disciplinary and clinically integrated team you will provide care to the patients within our affiliated Level III NICU and Academic Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Highlights:
- Work in the Level III NICU at Temple Women & Families, a newly designed, state-of-the-art 42-bed NICU. Temple Women and Families is the only campus in the Philadelphia area exclusively dedicated to women’s and families’ health.
- Approximately 2,500 deliveries a year and 400 NICU admissions. Caring for babies as young as 23 weeks gestation.
- 2 Neonatologists and 1 Physician Assistant – day shift, 1 Neonatologist and 1 Physician Assistant – night shift, NICU certified RNs, Social Workers, Nutritionists and tenured support staff.
- 24/7 Neonatal Physician Assistants in NICU to provide support.
- Newborn Nursery is staffed by pediatricians.
- The division has a strong commitment to quality improvement work and participates in the Vermont Oxford Network.
- This strong team-based approach focuses on providing the highest level of quality care and delivers excellent health outcomes that exceed the national average for critically ill newborns each year.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BC/BE in Neonatology-Perinatal Medicine
- Graduate of an ACGME accredited Pediatric residency & Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship program
- Unrestricted PA medical license at time of employment
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for Commonwealth of PA
