NP Jobs in Rochester: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a np job in Rochester?
Rochester's np market is anchored by its large academic medical centers, regional hospital networks, and a dense network of federally qualified health centers and community clinics. Candidates with inpatient or primary care experience have the clearest path, but specialty practices in cardiology, oncology, and behavioral health are also actively hiring. Tailoring your application to Rochester's emphasis on collaborative, team-based care gives you a real edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire nps in Rochester?
Rochester np roles are posted by Rochester Regional Health, Two Chairs, and Highland Hospital and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The local market is shaped by large integrated health systems, independent specialty groups, and urgent care operators expanding across Monroe County and the surrounding Finger Lakes region.
Are there remote np jobs in Rochester?
Yes, though remote work is limited for nps given the hands-on, patient-facing nature of most roles. About 75% of np openings tied to Rochester are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cluster in telehealth urgent care, chronic disease management, and psychiatric mental health practices where virtual visits are well established in the Rochester market.
How can I get a np job in Rochester with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Rochester is through residency or fellowship programs offered at the area's major academic medical institutions, which are designed specifically for new graduates transitioning into practice. Urgent care clinics, correctional health providers, and community health centers in Monroe County also hire new nps and provide structured supervision. Building clinical hours in Rochester's federally qualified health centers during your program significantly strengthens your candidacy for permanent roles at those same sites.
