Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Director of Physical Therapy to lead one of our new Long Island locations as we continue our expansion across New York. This role is ideal for a clinician ready to take the next step into leadership while maintaining a strong influence on clinical quality, team development, and operational success. You will join an established leadership team that has grown from a single private practice into a network of 12+ locations across Long Island, Queens, and New York City. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in launching and shaping a practice from the ground up, with the autonomy and support to make an immediate and lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of licensed physical therapists and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-surgical conditions.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, manual therapy, and functional training.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate, timely records in our AI-powered EMR system that reduces documentation time by up to 85%.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, other healthcare professionals, and internal team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Contribute to our culture of learning through mentorship, case discussions, and ongoing professional development.
- Participate in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Current New York State Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work with Leadership to coordinate growth of new practice.
- Experience training/mentoring team members (both clinicians and support staff).
