Nursing Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nursing job in Tampa?
Focus your search on Tampa's major hospital corridors, including the Medical Arts District near downtown and the cluster of facilities in New Tampa and Carrollwood. Health systems, specialty clinics, and rehabilitation centers hire consistently throughout the year. Candidates with acute care, emergency, or ICU experience tend to move quickly through hiring pipelines here, and familiarity with Epic or Cerner gives a practical edge in most Tampa facilities.
Which companies hire nursings in Tampa?
Tampa nursing roles are posted by Keiser University, Shriners Children's, and AdventHealth Carrollwood and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tampa's employer mix ranges from large regional health systems and academic medical centers to specialty surgical practices and home health agencies serving the broader Hillsborough County area.
Are there remote nursing jobs in Tampa?
Yes, though remote work is limited by nature for hands-on clinical roles and more common for utilization review, case management, and telehealth positions. About 15% of nursing openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting national trends in non-bedside nursing. Tampa's growing telehealth and managed care sector accounts for most of those remote-eligible roles locally.
How can I get a nursing job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tampa is through a new graduate residency program at one of the area's larger hospital systems, which are designed specifically for RNs with limited floor experience. Long-term care facilities, assisted living communities in the greater Brandon and Riverview area, and outpatient specialty clinics also hire new graduates. Starting in a high-volume med-surg or telemetry unit builds the experience that opens doors to competitive specialty roles across Tampa.
Which industries hire the most nursings in Tampa?
The sectors hiring the most nursings in Tampa are Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tampa's position as a regional medical hub for the Tampa Bay area, combined with a large and growing retiree population in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, keeps demand high across those sectors year-round.
