Summary
Job Description:
Nursing Assistant - 3 West Medical Surgical and Telemetry
Part-Time 7a - 7p
The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
- Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
- Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
- Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
- Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
- Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
- Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
