Operations Director Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a operations director job in Seattle?
Target Seattle's strongest hiring sectors: enterprise technology in South Lake Union, health systems anchored by major medical campuses, and logistics operations tied to the port and regional distribution networks. Candidates who combine P&L ownership with cross-functional team leadership stand out locally. Tailoring your experience to a specific sector, whether cloud infrastructure, healthcare delivery, or supply chain, gives you a concrete edge over generalist applicants in Seattle's competitive market.
Which companies hire operations directors in Seattle?
Seattle operations director roles are posted by Amazon, TikTok, and Amazon Web Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's hiring mix ranges from global tech headquarters and regional health systems to mid-size logistics operators and growing consumer brands with operations hubs in the metro area.
Are there remote operations director jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: operations directors with hands-on site or plant responsibilities are almost always on-site, while those overseeing analytics, vendor management, or distributed teams have more flexibility. About 27% of operations director openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, skewing toward technology and business services companies headquartered in the region.
How can I get a operations director job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an operations manager or senior manager role within a Seattle employer, particularly in tech, healthcare, or logistics where internal promotion is common. Mid-size companies in SoDo's industrial corridor and Eastside suburban campuses often hire operations leads who can grow into director-level scope. Building experience with process improvement frameworks and demonstrating measurable efficiency gains in your current role accelerates that transition locally.
Which industries hire the most operations directors in Seattle?
Seattle operations director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's position as a global technology hub, combined with a major port, a large regional health system presence, and growing aerospace and defense activity, keeps demand for operations leadership consistently strong across those sectors.
