About the role
Looking for a working lead to run inbound and outbound on the floor at our Sumner warehouse. Receiving containers, putting product away, picking, staging, and loading trucks. You'll have a crew. Your job is to plan the day, put names on the work, and keep both docks moving.
This is a lead role. You'll still jump on product when it gets busy. What we need most is someone who can run a shift, not just the fastest picker on the team.
What the job looks like day to day
- Open the shift with a short huddle — safety, what's inbound, what's shipping, what's in the way.
- Run destuff, count, putaway, pick, stage, and load so people and doors aren't sitting around.
- Keep a simple board of plan vs. actual. If something slips, deal with it during the shift.
- Work with the office so receipts and orders are clean before the floor starts them.
- Coach people on how we want the work done. Stop unsafe shortcuts and sloppy picks.
- Close the day with leftover work named and tomorrow's first jobs set. No mystery pallets left in the aisle.
What you need to have done before
- You've been a warehouse lead or supervisor. Inbound and outbound, not only one dock.
- You can use a WMS and you know your way around a dock schedule.
- When the plan falls apart you reset the work. You don't just grab a pallet jack and disappear.
- You can coach, move people, and have a direct conversation when someone isn't keeping up.
- Camelot, coffee or food 3PL, Spanish, and current lift certs are a plus.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, first shift, on-site. Some mornings start earlier when containers or outbound loads require it.
