INTRODUCTION
At Chainalysis, our mission is to build trust in blockchains. To do that, we need to translate complex technical capabilities into human stories that resonate with investigators, compliance officers, and financial institutions.
As a Product Marketing Associate, you will be the bridge between our Product team’s innovations and our customers’ needs. You aren’t just looking for someone to list features; you are a storyteller who can craft a "product-to-customer" narrative that explains not just what we built, but why it matters to the safety of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. You will own the messaging for key segments, ensuring our sales team is armed with the right positioning and our customers understand the value of our platform.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Craft the Narrative: Develop clear, compelling messaging and positioning that differentiates Chainalysis products in a crowded market. You’ll turn technical specs into value-driven stories.
-
Enable the Field: Create high-impact sales enablement materials (pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and talk tracks) that help our Account Executives and Customer Success teams win.
-
Content Collaboration: Partner with the broader Marketing team to fuel demand generation campaigns with content that drives top-of-funnel interest and mid-funnel conversion.
-
Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a strategic partner to Product Management, providing feedback from the field to help shape the product roadmap.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of experience in Product Marketing, preferably within SaaS, Fintech, or Cybersecurity.
-
A Storyteller First: You have a proven ability to create "product-to-customer" narratives. You can take a complex technical update and explain how it solves a specific user's problem.
-
Execution Powerhouse: You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, from small feature updates to major platform launches.
-
Analytical Mindset: You use data to back up your narrative. You’re comfortable looking at win/loss data, usage metrics, and market trends to inform your strategy.
-
Crypto Curiosity: You don’t need to be a blockchain expert on day one, but you must have a deep desire to learn the nuances of the crypto-economy and the regulatory landscape.
-
Exceptional Communication: Whether it’s a 10-word headline or a 10-page white paper, your writing is clear, concise, and persuasive.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Experience in a high-growth startup environment.
-
Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Highspot, or Gong.
-
Knowledge of the public sector (government/law enforcement) or financial compliance industries.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Product Marketing Associate
Target companies with a history of H-1B sponsorship
Search OFLC disclosure data to identify employers who have sponsored Product Marketing Associates before. Companies with a track record are far more likely to sponsor again than those filing for the first time.
Frame your role as a specialty occupation from day one
H-1B eligibility for marketing roles depends on demonstrating the position requires a specific bachelor's degree. Emphasize technical skills like data analysis, competitive intelligence, or product analytics to strengthen that argument with future sponsors.
Ask about sponsorship before accepting an offer
Bring it up during the offer stage, not after signing. Ask directly whether the company has sponsored marketing roles before and whether they work with an immigration attorney. This saves time and avoids surprises later.
Explore STEM OPT if your degree qualifies
Some Product Marketing Associate roles at tech companies qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension if your underlying degree is in a STEM field. Confirm your CIP code with your DSO and identify whether your employer is E-Verify enrolled.
Browse OPT-friendly Product Marketing roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship willingness. Searching there saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations after multiple interview rounds.

Do Product Marketing Associate roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Many do, but it depends on how the role is defined. H-1B eligibility requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Product marketing roles that emphasize data analysis, market research, or technical product knowledge are more defensible than generalist marketing positions.
Can I work as a Product Marketing Associate on OPT without any additional authorization?
Yes. If you have an approved EAD card and your employment is directly related to your degree field, you can work as a Product Marketing Associate on post-completion OPT. Students with degrees in marketing, business, communications, or a related field typically satisfy the degree-relatedness requirement. Confirm with your DSO if you're unsure your specific degree qualifies.
Does a Product Marketing Associate role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
It can, depending on your degree. The STEM OPT extension is tied to your degree's CIP code, not the job title itself. If you hold a qualifying STEM degree such as information systems, statistics, or computer science, and your employer is enrolled in E-Verify, the role may qualify. Roles at tech companies with analytical components tend to have the strongest cases.
Where is the best place to find Product Marketing Associate jobs that sponsor OPT students?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT students and filters roles by sponsorship willingness, saving you from applying to companies that won't hire international candidates. General job boards don't surface this information clearly, which means you often find out too late in the process. Starting your search on Migrate Mate significantly improves your conversion rate from application to offer.
What happens to my OPT authorization if my Product Marketing Associate role ends?
You enter a 60-day grace period from your last day of employment. During this window, you can search for a new qualifying role, transfer to a different visa status, or prepare to depart the U.S. You cannot work during the grace period. If you secure a new position, notify your DSO promptly and update your SEVIS record to reflect the new employer.
