Pediatric Social Worker Jobs in Brooklyn: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a pediatric social worker job in Brooklyn?
Focusing your search on Brooklyn's hospital systems, community health centers, and child welfare nonprofits gives you the best chances, since those sectors drive most local hiring. Roles concentrate in neighborhoods like Brownsville, East New York, and Crown Heights, where demand for pediatric services is especially high. Candidates with bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Mandarin, stand out in Brooklyn's multilingual communities. Experience with Medicaid-enrolled populations and familiarity with NYC Administration for Children's Services referral processes also gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire pediatric social workers in Brooklyn?
Companies currently hiring pediatric social workers in Brooklyn include Samaritan Daytop Village, Nao Medical, and Maimonides Medical Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Brooklyn's hiring mix skews heavily toward large hospital networks, federally qualified health centers, and community-based organizations focused on underserved youth populations.
Are there remote pediatric social worker jobs in Brooklyn?
Yes, but only in a narrow slice of the field, since most pediatric social work requires in-person contact with children and families. About 12% of pediatric social worker openings tied to Brooklyn are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated mostly in care coordination, telehealth case management, and supervisory roles. Fully in-person positions remain the norm for direct clinical or child protective work.
How can I get a pediatric social worker job in Brooklyn with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Brooklyn is through field placement or internship programs at community health centers and child welfare nonprofits, many of which convert strong interns to staff. Organizations operating in high-need neighborhoods like Brownsville and East Flatbush regularly hire BSW-level candidates and new MSW graduates into case aide or junior case manager roles. Volunteering with Brooklyn-based youth programs or completing a practicum at a Medicaid-funded clinic builds the local network and clinical hours that hiring managers look for most.
Which industries hire the most pediatric social workers in Brooklyn?
The sectors hiring the most pediatric social workers in Brooklyn are Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Brooklyn's dense concentration of safety-net hospitals, federally qualified health centers, and city-contracted child welfare agencies creates sustained demand across all of these sectors year-round.
