Healthcare Operations Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare operations manager in New York?
Most healthcare operations manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or public health, with a master's degree in health administration or business preferred for senior positions. New York does not issue a state license specific to this management role, but employers expect familiarity with New York State Department of Health regulatory requirements. Credentials like the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality give candidates a measurable edge in the New York market.
Which companies hire healthcare operations managers in New York?
Employers hiring healthcare operations managers in New York right now include Essen Health Care, NYU Langone Health, and Northwell Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of academic medical centers, large regional health systems, and managed care organizations makes it one of the more consistent states for sustained demand in this role.
Which New York cities have the most healthcare operations manager jobs?
New York, Bronx, and Brooklyn have the most healthcare operations manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its unmatched concentration of academic medical centers, health system headquarters, and managed care offices, while Buffalo and Albany generate consistent demand through large regional systems and state government health agencies anchoring those markets.
Are there remote healthcare operations manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many healthcare operations manager roles require on-site presence to oversee staff, vendors, and facility workflows. About 11% of healthcare operations manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting growing flexibility. The functions most likely to allow remote or hybrid arrangements are revenue cycle oversight, population health program coordination, and payer contract management.
How can I get hired as a healthcare operations manager in New York with little or no experience?
