Healthcare Operations Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare operations manager in Texas?
Most healthcare operations manager roles in Texas require at least a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a clinical field, with a master's degree preferred for director-level positions. There is no single state-issued license specific to the role, but Texas employers strongly favor candidates holding the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives credential or a Certified Healthcare Administrative Professional designation. Many Texas health systems also prioritize applicants with direct exposure to Texas Health and Human Services compliance requirements.
Which companies hire healthcare operations managers in Texas?
Employers hiring healthcare operations managers in Texas right now include Baylor Scott & White Health, Methodist Health System, and Rightway Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's high concentration of large integrated health systems and federally qualified health centers means sustained, year-round demand across both urban medical centers and regional community hospitals.
Which Texas cities have the most healthcare operations manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Farmers Branch have the most healthcare operations manager openings in Texas. Houston drives the highest volume thanks to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, while Dallas and San Antonio support dense networks of hospital systems, outpatient campuses, and insurance-affiliated clinics that consistently generate management-level openings.
Are there remote healthcare operations manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many healthcare operations manager responsibilities require on-site coordination with clinical staff and facility leadership. About 12% of healthcare operations manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in revenue cycle oversight, population health program management, and payer relations rather than direct facility operations.
How can I get hired as a healthcare operations manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator or practice administrator role at a Texas physician group or ambulatory surgery center, where the scope is narrower and experience requirements lower. Large Texas systems like Baylor Scott and White Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center run formal administrative fellowship programs designed for recent graduates of healthcare administration master's programs. A Certified Healthcare Administrative Professional credential or exposure to Epic or Cerner in an adjacent role such as medical billing supervisor, department scheduler, or clinic lead gives candidates a clear edge.
Where can I find and apply to healthcare operations manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to healthcare operations manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across hospital systems, outpatient networks, and specialty practices. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly to each employer.
