POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Human Resources Generalist for the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of significant responsibility. They are responsible to the Center’s CEO/President and is directly supervised by the General Counsel and Advisor of Governmental Affairs. They will work collaboratively with the team on human resource systems, practices, processes, and procedures.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing input to the General Counsel and Advisor of Governmental Affairs on employment related issues. They will maintain a level of knowledge to offer appropriate solutions that are legally defensible and in line with CORE values. They are expected to recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and CORE.
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the maintenance of the personnel records, administer and process all leaves of absence including, administer and coordinate annual employee performance review process, and other human resource related tasks such as tracking of role specific requirements and needs which includes but is not limited to scheduling lab work and processing clearance verifications and reverifications for clinical staff.. They will assist with the administration of worker’s compensation, FMLA, Unemployment Compensation, long term disability and short-term disability claims. They will be responsible for data entry in the HRIS system. They will also manage the paperwork for Per Diem contractors. They may also be assigned other job-related functions, from time to time, by the President/CEO or the General Counsel and Advisor on Governmental Affairs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The primary duty of the Generalist must be the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge of their specific field (which is a field of science or learning) and performing work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment. They must be able to perform in a proactive manner and not reactive. This work is distinguished from work involving routine mental, manual, mechanical, or physical work. A learned professional employee uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. The Generalist will oversee their respective duties and may have the authority to recommend the employment, termination, promotion, or change of status of an employee within the organization. The Generalist must have a post high school education, preferably a bachelor’s degree, in their area of specialty, or have obtained the advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to obtain an HR Certification within 2 years of hire.
