Uber's Paid Marketing team helps drive growth for millions of customers and earners around the world. We're looking for a senior performance marketing strategist to lead paid marketing strategy for Delivery in our largest mega-region, the Americas.
In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, and paid media. You'll identify the biggest growth opportunities for Delivery, determine where Paid can have the greatest impact, and shape how we invest across markets and channels.
You'll partner with regional Delivery leaders, global channel teams, Science, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to turn complex business problems into clear strategies and investment decisions. This is a strategy role, not a campaign execution role-you'll be expected to bring a strong analytical point of view, challenge existing plans, and drive decisions across a highly cross-functional organization.
What you'll do
Lead Paid Marketing Strategy
- Translate Delivery business priorities into cross-channel paid growth strategies across the Americas.
- Determine where and how Paid should invest across markets, channels, audiences, and initiatives.
- Identify, test, and scale new approaches to drive incremental Delivery growth.
- Analyze performance and business trends to identify opportunities, risks, and root causes.
- Use paid marketing fundamentals, acquisition economics, and measurement insights to evaluate investment tradeoffs.
- Turn complex analysis into clear recommendations and decisions for senior stakeholders.
- Partner with Delivery, Channel, Science, Finance, and other teams to align on growth priorities.
- Challenge existing plans and bring a clear Paid point of view to strategic business decisions.
- Lead senior discussions to prioritize opportunities and align teams on the highest-impact investments.
- 7+ years of experience in Performance Marketing, Growth Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Digital Media, or a related analytical growth function.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience developing multi-channel paid marketing or growth strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, form hypotheses, analyze data, and make investment recommendations.
- Strong understanding of paid marketing fundamentals, including ROAS, acquisition economics, attribution, incrementality, and performance measurement.
- Experience making or influencing marketing investment and budget allocation decisions.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders in a large, matrixed organization.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations.
- Experience working across multiple markets or regions preferred. Experience working within the technology industry.

Performance Marketing Manager Jobs in San Francisco: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a performance marketing manager job in San Francisco?
Target San Francisco's tech platforms, growth-stage startups, and fintech companies first, as these sectors drive the highest local demand. Roles cluster in SoMa, Mission Bay, and the Financial District. Candidates with hands-on paid acquisition experience across Google and Meta, plus demonstrated pipeline or revenue attribution, stand out in this market. A portfolio showing measurable CAC or ROAS improvements gets attention faster than a general marketing background.
Which companies hire performance marketing managers in San Francisco?
San Francisco performance marketing manager roles are posted by Airwallex, Uber, and HARVEY and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring skews heavily toward high-growth tech and consumer platforms with dedicated growth and acquisition teams.
Are there remote performance marketing manager jobs in San Francisco?
Yes, performance marketing manager work is well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements because the core responsibilities, managing ad platforms, analyzing attribution data, and optimizing budgets, are entirely screen-based. About 29% of performance marketing manager openings tied to San Francisco are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech sector's flexibility. Campaign strategy and reporting work transfers most cleanly to fully remote setups.
How can I get a performance marketing manager job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a performance marketing coordinator or paid media specialist role at a mid-size San Francisco startup, where team structures are leaner and ownership comes faster. Growth-stage companies in SoMa and Mission Bay regularly hire junior candidates who can show hands-on Google Ads or Meta campaign work, even from freelance or side projects. Moving into a manager title typically follows one to two years of owning a channel budget directly.
Which industries hire the most performance marketing managers in San Francisco?
Most performance marketing manager openings in San Francisco sit in Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Fintech, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Francisco's dense concentration of consumer tech platforms, fintech companies, and DTC brands creates consistent demand for performance roles tied directly to user acquisition and revenue growth.
