Our Growth Marketing team scales Coinbase's customer base and revenue through data-driven, full-funnel acquisition strategies across paid channels globally. In this role, you'll be the owner of our performance marketing program, managing hundreds of millions in ad spend across paid search, paid social, and mobile channels to drive new user acquisition at or above ROI targets.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end strategy and execution across global paid performance channels (including Google Ads, paid social (Meta, TikTok), and mobile UA) to hit aggressive new user acquisition and efficiency targets.
- Drive a rigorous testing and learning agenda across creatives, audiences, bidding strategies, and landing experiences; translate results into scaled playbooks for global markets.
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics to design experiments, incrementality tests, and measurement frameworks that connect channel performance to downstream business outcomes.
- Lead platform relationships with Google, Meta, TikTok, and others, aligning on betas, measurement approaches, and joint growth plans to unlock new capabilities.
- Build and maintain performance dashboards and reporting with clear visibility by geo, product, and channel; proactively surface insights, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Creative, Data Science, and regional teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on performance marketing experience, with deep expertise spanning paid search, paid social, and/or mobile user acquisition in an in-house or agency environment.
- Proven track record owning large-scale media budgets and delivering measurable improvements in user acquisition efficiency across multiple channels and markets.
- Strong technical aptitude and experience leveraging LLMs, no-code/low-code platforms, and automation tools (e.g. Zapier, n8n, Make, Retool) to prototype custom agents and AI-driven workflows that accelerate growth experimentation, optimize operational efficiency, and scale hyper-targeted campaigns.
- Analytical and experimentation mindset; comfortable with spreadsheets and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Hex, Tableau, Superset) to build and launch tests, interpret results, and make data-grounded decisions.
- Experience with full-funnel measurement across app and web, including event strategy, SKAN/iOS privacy-aware execution, and incrementality testing.
- B2C experience required; fintech, crypto, or high-consideration consumer financial products strongly preferred.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, able to synthesize complex performance narratives and influence senior stakeholders with clear recommendations.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills; able to manage multiple geographies, campaigns, tests, and priorities in parallel while maintaining execution quality.
- Utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Tips for Your Performance Marketing Manager Job Search
Quantify channel-level results on your resume
Hiring managers want to see performance, not just ownership. Replace bullets like 'managed paid social campaigns' with specifics: cost per acquisition, return on ad spend, and how those numbers shifted under your watch across each channel.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists performance marketing manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Tailor your resume to each channel focus
A role built around paid search reads very differently from one centered on programmatic or paid social. Restructure your resume to lead with the channels and platforms that match the job description, so your most relevant experience surfaces immediately.
Build a portfolio of campaign teardowns
If you can't share live client data, document a past campaign from hypothesis through execution to result. Even anonymized teardowns showing your attribution logic, test structure, and optimization decisions signal strategic thinking that a resume bullet cannot.
Prepare to discuss attribution model trade-offs
Interviewers at growth-stage companies commonly ask how you choose between last-click, data-driven, and multi-touch attribution. Practice articulating when each model fits the business stage and what you'd change given a limited analytics stack.
Negotiate using total compensation, not base alone
Performance marketing roles at e-commerce and SaaS companies often include bonuses tied to ROAS or acquisition targets. Before you negotiate, clarify how variable pay is calculated and whether historical payout rates have matched targets.
Performance Marketing Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most performance marketing managers?
The companies hiring the most performance marketing managers right now include Amazon, TikTok, and Airwallex, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is especially strong at direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands and growth-stage SaaS companies.
How many performance marketing manager jobs are remote?
About 41% of performance marketing manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more location-flexible marketing roles available. Roles focused on paid search and paid social tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions requiring close collaboration with in-house creative or data science teams lean toward hybrid arrangements.
How do you become a performance marketing manager?
Start by building hands-on experience running paid campaigns, even in a specialist or coordinator role, so you can show measurable results. Develop fluency in at least two major ad platforms, learn how to read attribution data critically, and pursue relevant certifications like Google Ads or Meta Blueprint. Move into management by owning a full channel budget, demonstrating cross-channel thinking, and showing you can translate performance data into business-level recommendations.
Can you get hired as a performance marketing manager without much experience?
Breaking in with limited experience is possible if you can demonstrate real campaign results from freelance work, side projects, or managing a small budget for a nonprofit or startup. Employers care more about your ability to optimize toward a business outcome than your job title history. A portfolio showing your testing methodology and the impact of your decisions will outperform a resume with years of experience but no measurable results.
What does the performance marketing manager interview process look like?
Most processes start with a recruiter screen, followed by a hiring manager conversation focused on your channel experience and past results. Expect a technical or take-home exercise asking you to analyze a campaign scenario, diagnose underperformance, or build a channel strategy. Final rounds typically include a case presentation to a marketing or growth team and a cross-functional interview to assess how you collaborate with creative, analytics, and product stakeholders.
Where can I find and apply to performance marketing manager jobs?
You can find and apply to performance marketing manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your channel expertise and seniority level, then apply directly to each one that fits.
