Pharmacy Technician Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pharmacy technician in New Hampshire?
Pharmacy technicians in New Hampshire must register with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy before working in a licensed pharmacy. Registration requires a high school diploma or equivalent and passing a criminal background check. Most employers also require or strongly prefer national certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. Candidates who complete a formal pharmacy technician training program through a community college or employer-sponsored course are generally more competitive in the New Hampshire market.
How much do pharmacy technicians make in New Hampshire?
Pharmacy technicians in New Hampshire earn a median of about $47,360 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,080 for the lowest 10% to over $61,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire pharmacy technicians in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire pharmacy technician roles are posted by Walgreens, CVS Health, and Hannaford and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hospital systems with campuses across southern and central New Hampshire are among the most active employers alongside retail pharmacy chains with a broad statewide footprint.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most pharmacy technician jobs?
Manchester, Nashua, and Milford have the most pharmacy technician openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua anchor the market because of their dense concentration of hospital campuses, outpatient clinics, and retail pharmacy locations, while Concord draws steady openings as the state capital and home to several regional healthcare systems.
Are there remote pharmacy technician jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of pharmacy technician openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, because most pharmacy technician work requires hands-on dispensing, verification, and direct patient or staff interaction on site. The roles most likely to allow remote or hybrid arrangements are specialty prior authorization positions and telepharmacy support roles.
How can I get hired as a pharmacy technician in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to retail pharmacy chains or hospital systems that run on-the-job training programs for candidates who hold or are actively pursuing New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy registration. Dartmouth Health and Elliot Hospital periodically offer pharmacy technician trainee positions designed for candidates without prior experience. Candidates coming from customer service, medical receptionist, or CNA roles often find it easier to move into entry-level technician roles, and completing a PTCB-approved training program before applying gives a meaningful hiring edge.
