Physician Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's dominant hiring segments: large health systems anchored in Riverside and Southside, the expanding network of outpatient specialty clinics along the I-295 corridor, and the region's growing urgent care and telehealth-adjacent practices. Candidates who hold board certification and have completed a residency in a high-demand specialty such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, or family practice move fastest here. Direct outreach to hospital medical staff offices gives you an edge over applicants relying solely on online listings.
Which companies hire physicians in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring physicians in Jacksonville right now include Baptist Health, Brooks Rehabilitation, and TeamHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring base ranges from large regional health systems and academic-affiliated hospitals to independent multispecialty groups and federally qualified health centers serving the city's underserved neighborhoods.
Are there remote physician jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though remote physician roles are limited by nature given the hands-on demands of most clinical work. About 19% of physician openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in utilization review, medical director advisory roles, and telehealth consultation. In Jacksonville specifically, the telehealth segment has grown alongside the city's expanding network of outpatient and virtual-care providers.
How can I get a physician job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a residency or fellowship match at one of Jacksonville's teaching hospital programs, which convert directly into attending positions for strong performers. Early-career physicians can also target federally qualified health centers in underserved Jacksonville zip codes, which are actively recruiting and often offer loan-forgiveness incentives. Locum tenens assignments with Jacksonville-area urgent care and hospitalist groups are a proven way to build a local network and establish relationships that lead to permanent offers.
