Physician Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Tampa?
Tampa's busiest hiring sectors are health systems, multispecialty group practices, and academic medicine anchored near the USF Health campus and Tampa General Hospital. Candidates with board certification in high-demand specialties such as hospitalist medicine, emergency medicine, or primary care move fastest. Tailoring your CV to the patient population and payer mix of each employer type gives you a clear edge in this market.

Yes, though remote physician roles are limited by nature given the hands-on requirements of clinical practice. About 25% of physician openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, covering areas such as telemedicine consultations and utilization review. Roles in insurance medical review, telehealth platforms, and case management are the most common fully remote opportunities in the Tampa market.
