You must be capable of defining equipment specifications and evaluating the merit of design changes. The ideal candidate brings experience working on end to end electro-mechanical product design and manufacturing.
This position requires approximately 30% travel to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, vendors, and product validation sites. While most travel is domestic, some international travel may be required.

- Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.
- Ability to provide support for manufacturing activities for the new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
- Be a leader within the product development team as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.

Product Design Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product design manager in Washington?
Product design manager roles in Washington do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in product design, industrial design, interaction design, or a closely related field, followed by several years of individual contributor design work before moving into management. Washington's tech-dense hiring market also values demonstrated leadership experience, a strong portfolio of shipped products, and familiarity with the software or hardware domains dominant in the Seattle and Bellevue corridors.
Which companies hire product design managers in Washington?
Employers hiring product design managers in Washington right now include Amazon, Rippling, and Meta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of global technology headquarters and consumer-hardware companies means consistent, year-round openings at both the senior and director levels.
Which Washington cities have the most product design manager jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond have the most product design manager openings in Washington. Seattle anchors the market through its dense concentration of technology companies and creative agencies, while Bellevue and Redmond draw heavily from the large campuses of Microsoft and Amazon, which collectively employ thousands of product and design professionals in the greater Eastside corridor.
Are there remote product design manager jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of product design manager openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves digital collaboration, design reviews in shared tools, and stakeholder meetings conducted over video. Strategic and UX systems management work tends to be the most remote-compatible, while roles tied to hardware prototyping or on-site design studios typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a product design manager in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building management exposure as a senior individual contributor before applying to manager roles. At large Washington employers like Microsoft and Amazon, associate and senior designer programs regularly develop talent into team leads through internal mentorship and stretch assignments. Transitioning from an adjacent role such as UX lead, design program manager, or product researcher is also a common route. A portfolio that shows cross-functional project ownership, even without a formal management title, gives candidates a clear edge in Washington's competitive market.
Where can I find and apply to product design manager jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to product design manager jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
