The opportunity
Unity powers the majority of top mobile games and underpins real-time 3D experiences in nearly every country on earth. When studios and developers decide how to build, ship, and monetize, Unity is usually what they choose. The tools we build shape what the entire industry can make.
Now, we’re building the AI capabilities for that platform. Our AI tools bring context-aware assistants, agentic production tools, external plugins, and generative capabilities directly into a developer's existing workflow. Our goal isn't to automate game development—it's to strip away friction between a creator's intent and a playable experience, from early prototype to live game.
As Senior Product Marketing Manager, you’ll own go-to-market for this portfolio. Your core focus will be on our AI creation experience and our AI integration ecosystem connecting Unity to third-party tools. You’ll also serve as the PMM partner for emerging AI capabilities and step in on high-impact, adjacent initiatives across the business.
Unity’s AI tools are still nascent, the category is taking shape in public, and developer sentiment around AI is fiercely debated. Working with Product, Engineering, Community, and Sales, you’ll define what we say, who we speak to, and why creators should trust us.
What you'll be doing
Positioning & Narrative — Own the positioning architecture for Unity’s AI tools, the plugin ecosystem, and how it integrates into our broader AI story. Translate deep technical capabilities into obvious workflow value, and refresh messaging as tech, competitors, and developer sentiment evolve.
Go-to-Market Leadership — Lead end-to-end GTM for launches, betas, and feature rollouts: tiering, audience targeting, enablement, and launch-day execution. Run honest post-mortems on what actually worked.
Audience & Persona Definition — Define precisely who we're building for—from indie creators to technical directors—and feed those insights back into product decisions, beta cohorts, and roadmap strategy.
Developer Trust & Credibility — Game devs are inherently skeptical of AI. Craft messaging that earns credibility with practitioners instead of hyping past them, partnering with Community and DevRel to meet creators where real discussions happen.
Ecosystem & Partner Marketing — Drive GTM and co-marketing for third-party AI plugins. Make a compelling case for why developers' favorite AI tools should live inside Unity.
Market Intelligence — Track the AI-in-gaming landscape and turn market shifts into sharp positioning and sales enablement—not decks no one opens.
Voice of the Customer — Turn forum threads, interviews, and community feedback into actionable signal that directly influences product roadmap, pricing, and packaging.
Enablement & Content — Equip Sales, Success, and Support with clear pitch decks, battlecards, and objection handlers. Partner with Content marketing on launch assets and developer-facing thought leadership.
Success Metrics — Partner with Product and Analytics to set clear targets—adoption, activation, retention, and qualitative sentiment—and hold the team accountable to them.
What we're looking for
8+ years in Product Marketing or GTM leadership with a clear track record of owning a product line end-to-end.
Proven track record marketing to technical audiences (developers, engineers, or technical artists) and the credibility to win over default-skeptical users.
Direct experience with AI/ML products, plus the technical judgment to separate production-ready capabilities from flashy demos.
Exceptional writing skills. Ability to turn complex tech into crisp, obvious narratives across launch pages, keynotes, or Slack threads with engineers.
Cross-functional leadership in matrixed teams—able to align Product, Sales, and Marketing around a single plan through influence, not authority.
High comfort with ambiguity and early-stage products where strategy evolves and roadmaps shift.
Strong data literacy - Skilled at setting key metrics, interpreting performance signal, and pivoting strategy based on hard data.
Familiarity with Claude Code/Gemini and how to integrate AI to accelerate and enhance your day-to-day work
Nice to have
Game production fluency — Background in games or a deep grasp of modern development pipelines and creator workflows (strongly preferred).
Hands-on context with the modern AI landscape (agents, plugins, MCP, model providers) and how developers are integrating them today.
Platform & ecosystem GTM — Experience marketing developer platforms, game engines, SDKs, or plugin ecosystems.
Hands-on creation experience — Experience shipping something in Unity or a similar real-time creation tool.
Partner co-marketing — Proven track record executing joint GTM motions with major tech partners.
Category creation — Experience guiding a product through a major market shift and educating users on new paradigms.
