The Role
We are looking for an Associate Product Marketing Manager who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow at the intersection of AI, enterprise software, and go-to-market strategy. This role is an opportunity to build a strong PMM foundation — learning how to translate complex product capabilities into clear customer narratives, support product launches, and help equip sales and customer-facing teams with the tools they need to succeed. You will work closely with senior PMMs, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success, contributing to real work across messaging, enablement, research, and launches from day one. If you are energized by AI, love clear writing, and want to develop into a well-rounded B2B marketer, this role is for you.
What You Will Do
Support Eightfold's AI and Product Narrative
- Learn and internalize Eightfold's AI approach — including our Talent Intelligence foundation, agentic capabilities, and Responsible AI framework — and help communicate these concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Assist in developing content including product one-pagers, explainers, FAQs, and internal briefs that help customers and internal teams understand what we build and why it matters.
- Help monitor the competitive and AI landscape, flagging relevant developments and contributing to competitive intelligence summaries.
- Support the development of sales and CS enablement materials, including talk tracks, pitch decks, and demo guides.
Contribute to Core PMM Execution
- Support go-to-market readiness for product launches, coordinating across Product, Sales, and CS to ensure teams are informed and prepared.
- Assist in maintaining and updating messaging frameworks, positioning documents, and product narratives as the product evolves.
- Conduct market and customer research — synthesizing win/loss themes, persona insights, and field feedback to inform messaging and positioning.
- Help maintain a library of enablement assets, ensuring materials are current, accurate, and easy for the field to use.
- Partner with senior PMMs on analyst and competitive projects, contributing research, drafts, and coordination support.
What We Need From You
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in product marketing, content marketing, corporate marketing, or a related field in B2B SaaS or technology.
- Strong writing skills — you can take complex ideas and make them accessible without sacrificing accuracy.
- Intellectual curiosity about AI and technology, and a genuine interest in learning how products work, not just how they are positioned.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines, communicate proactively, and operate with attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset — you are comfortable working across functions and know how to build trust with partners in Product, Sales, and CS.
Preferred
- Exposure to AI, ML, or technically complex software products through work, coursework, or personal interest.
- Experience supporting go-to-market launches or product communications.
- Familiarity with enterprise HR technology, workforce platforms, or adjacent enterprise SaaS.
- Comfort working in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and clarity is something you help create, not just receive.
What We Believe

Product Marketing Associate Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product marketing associate in California?
Most product marketing associate roles in California require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related discipline, with no state-issued license needed for the role itself. California employers, particularly in the Bay Area and Los Angeles tech corridors, strongly favor candidates who can show a portfolio of messaging frameworks, launch briefs, or competitive analyses alongside their degree. Internships at California technology or consumer companies during college are the most direct on-ramp.
How much do product marketing associates make in California?
Product marketing associates in California earn a median of about $193,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,370 for the lowest 10% to over $326,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product marketing associates in California?
Employers hiring product marketing associates in California right now include Mattel, DoorDash, and Bitgo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's density of headquartered technology and enterprise software companies means product marketing teams here tend to be larger and more specialized than in most other states.
Which California cities have the most product marketing associate jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto account for the most product marketing associate openings in California. San Francisco and its surrounding Bay Area cities lead because of the concentration of enterprise and consumer technology headquarters there, while Los Angeles draws volume from its large media, entertainment technology, and direct-to-consumer brand sector, and San Diego contributes steadily through its life sciences and defense technology companies.
Are there remote product marketing associate jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 32% of product marketing associate openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves writing, cross-functional Slack coordination, and slide decks rather than on-site presence. The most remote-friendly parts of the role are positioning work, competitive research, and content development, while product launch events and sales enablement sessions more often require in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as a product marketing associate in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or product operations role at a California technology company, then transferring internally into a product marketing function after demonstrating strong writing and analytical skills. Companies like Salesforce, Google, and Adobe run associate and rotational marketing programs that accept recent graduates. Building a portfolio with a sample positioning document, a competitive teardown, or a mock go-to-market plan for a real California product substantially improves your candidacy against more experienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to product marketing associate jobs in California?
You can find and apply to product marketing associate jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across technology, life sciences, consumer brands, and enterprise software. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly from the listings.
