DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to own the end-to-end marketing strategy for the most impactful product launches across the seller business. This role sits at the intersection of seller success, seller experience, and business growth — serving as the bridge between product/program development and the sellers who power Amazon's store.
You will define and execute marketing strategies that drive seller adoption and satisfaction, fostering the success of our selling partners. You will influence the seller experience across our most impactful products and develop go-to-market (GTM) frameworks that support sellers through their journey. You will operate with limited guidance on complex, ambiguous problems, influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners to deliver measurable impact on key business metrics including adoption, traffic, conversion, and seller satisfaction.
This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on millions of sellers, many of which are small to medium-sized businesses. Independent sellers now account for more than 60% of all sales in Amazon’s store. The ideal candidate thinks both strategically and tactically — able to zoom out to see the big picture while maintaining sharp attention to critical details. You possess a passion for communications or marketing and the ability to manage and execute complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. You are comfortable diving into data, distilling insights, improving and simplifying cross-functional processes, and holding internal teams accountable to process improvements.
Key job responsibilities
-
Product marketing ownership. Act as the single point of contact for marketing on emerging SPX programs. Own the marketing strategy end-to-end with the product and technology teams, from roadmap input through launch and into adoption.
-
Go-to-market and adoption strategy. Own GTM strategy for your portfolio — positioning, targeting, segmentation, launch planning, and post-launch adoption campaigns. Build value propositions tailored to seller cohorts, and build GTM frameworks that hold up across launches rather than being rebuilt each time.
-
Seller messaging and content strategy. Own at-scale seller messaging for your launches. Define content strategy across formats — written, video, interactive tools, in-product — and run a test-and-learn approach to channel mix and creative.
-
Channel partnership and prioritization. Translate strategy into channel briefs for the shared channel marketing team and prioritize your asks against the team's intake framework. Make explicit trade-off calls on what does and does not get marketing support.
-
Seller insights and measurement. Use seller research, feedback, and sentiment data to ground positioning and messaging decisions. Define the success metrics for each launch up front, report against them, and feed what you learn back into the product roadmap.
About the team
Our team is dedicated to supporting new team members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. We are deeply invested in your career growth and strive to assign opportunities based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded Amazonian.

- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis

Product Marketing Associate Jobs in San Diego: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a product marketing associate job in San Diego?
Focus your search on San Diego's three strongest hiring pockets: the biotech and medtech corridor in Sorrento Valley and Torrey Pines, the defense and cybersecurity firms clustered in Kearny Mesa and Mira Mesa, and the SaaS and consumer tech companies anchored in UTC and Downtown. Candidates who can demonstrate messaging experience for technical or regulated products stand out here, since many San Diego employers operate in compliance-heavy industries where generic marketing backgrounds are a harder sell.
Which companies hire product marketing associates in San Diego?
San Diego product marketing associate roles are posted by Qualcomm, BD, and Intuit and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Diego's employer mix skews heavily toward life sciences, defense contractors, and growth-stage SaaS companies, so expect a range from large publicly traded firms to well-funded mid-size startups.
Are there remote product marketing associate jobs in San Diego?
Yes, product marketing associate work is largely desk-based and analytical, making it a reasonable fit for remote and hybrid arrangements. About 67% of product marketing associate openings tied to San Diego are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, though fully remote roles are more common at SaaS and tech companies than at biotech or defense firms that rely on cross-functional in-person collaboration. Content strategy and competitive analysis tasks tend to be the most remote-friendly parts of the role.
How can I get a product marketing associate job in San Diego with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Diego is targeting coordinator or marketing specialist roles at mid-size biotech or SaaS companies, which often promote internally into associate positions once you know their product lines. UC San Diego's Rady School of Management and local startup incubators like EvoNexus run programs that connect early-career candidates to growing companies. Building a portfolio with a product launch case study or competitive analysis for a San Diego industry, even from a class project, moves your application past the screening stage faster than a general resume.
Which industries hire the most product marketing associates in San Diego?
The sectors hiring the most product marketing associates in San Diego are Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Diego's concentration of biotech, defense technology, and enterprise software companies creates consistent demand for product marketers who can translate complex, technical products into clear market positioning for specialized buyer audiences.
