Production Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production associate in Texas?
Most production associate roles in Texas require a high school diploma or GED and are open to candidates without prior industry experience. Employers in food processing, chemical manufacturing, and electronics assembly typically provide on-the-job training. Earning a forklift operator certification or completing a manufacturing technology certificate through a Texas community college, such as those offered by Houston Community College or San Antonio College, significantly strengthens your application.
Which companies hire production associates in Texas?
Employers hiring production associates in Texas right now include Pilot Travel Centers, Walmart, and Celestica, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of petrochemical plants along the Gulf Coast and large food processing corridors in Central Texas means ongoing hiring from both multinational manufacturers and regional producers.
Which Texas cities have the most production associate jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Georgetown have the most production associate openings in Texas. Houston leads due to its massive petrochemical and energy manufacturing base along the Gulf Coast, Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from electronics, food processing, and logistics-linked assembly operations, and San Antonio benefits from a growing advanced manufacturing sector anchored by large automotive and healthcare product facilities.
Are there remote production associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Production associate work is fundamentally hands-on and tied to a physical plant or assembly floor, so remote arrangements are uncommon. About 1% of production associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those postings typically involve quality documentation, production scheduling, or inventory coordination duties rather than direct line work.
How can I get hired as a production associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to manufacturers that run structured new-hire training programs, such as food processing plants in the San Antonio corridor or electronics assembly facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Temp-to-hire roles through Texas-based staffing agencies that specialize in manufacturing place candidates on the floor immediately. Completing a forklift certification or a short manufacturing technology course at a Texas community college gives applicants a concrete edge over other entry-level candidates.
Where can I find and apply to production associate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to production associate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the employers that interest you.
