Program Supervisor Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a program supervisor in Texas?
Most program supervisor roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, education, or a related field, with some positions requiring a master's degree. In behavioral health or social services, a Texas-issued Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor credential from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors strengthens candidacy significantly. Employers typically expect several years of direct service or program coordination experience before promoting into supervisory roles.
Which companies hire program supervisors in Texas?
Employers hiring program supervisors in Texas right now include Celestica, GXO Logistics, and McDonald's, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large government-funded service infrastructure, including Health and Human Services agencies and federally contracted workforce programs, makes the state one of the most active markets for this role nationwide.
Which Texas cities have the most program supervisor jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most program supervisor openings in Texas. Houston's concentration of nonprofits, health systems, and federally funded community services drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas-Fort Worth's density of corporate headquarters and government contractors and Austin's growth in public sector and tech-adjacent administration account for strong demand in those metros as well.
Are there remote program supervisor jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since program supervisors often need to be present with staff and clients. About 3% of program supervisor openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Roles focused on data oversight, grant compliance, or training coordination tend to offer the most location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a program supervisor in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a program coordinator or case manager role first, then building toward supervisory responsibility. Large Texas employers like the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and nonprofit networks such as Catholic Charities of Texas regularly post associate-level program roles that serve as direct pipelines into supervision. Earning a Texas-recognized credential in social work or counseling and volunteering to lead small project teams accelerates that transition meaningfully.
Where can I find and apply to program supervisor jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to program supervisor jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target area, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
