Project Designer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Designer to join our expanding design team. You will balance hands-on design work with project coordination, collaborating closely with clients and partners to deliver exceptional architectural lighting design solutions. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Position Details
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Office Location: Galleria
Residency Requirement: Must live within The Sam Houston Parkway
Schedule: 30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Design Development: Create detailed AutoCAD drawings and design documentation for lighting-focused architectural projects
Project Coordination: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and workflows using project management software
Client & Partner Communication: Communicate design concepts, project status, and technical details to clients and internal stakeholders
Lighting Design: Incorporate lighting design expertise into lighting plan solutions
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD
- Project management experience using any project management software (Trello experience is ideal)
- Demonstrated proficiency in lighting design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of an Associate's degree
- Demonstrates integrity and accountability. Takes ownership of committed work and communicates proactively if timelines or scope change.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-year degree in architecture, design, engineering, or related field
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Hourly Rate: $25/hour
Onboarding & Evaluation
This position includes a 90-day probationary period with performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure alignment and success in the role.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
