Project Management Analyst Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project management analyst in Hawaii?
Most Hawaii employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field along with demonstrated analytical or project coordination experience. There is no state-issued license required to work as a project management analyst in Hawaii, but earning a Project Management Professional certification strengthens your candidacy significantly, particularly with defense contractors and state agencies. Many candidates start in coordinator or administrative analyst roles within Hawaii's government or healthcare sectors before moving into dedicated analyst positions.
How much do project management analysts make in Hawaii?
Project management analysts in Hawaii earn a median of about $78,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $53,930 for the lowest 10% to over $150,440 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project management analysts in Hawaii?
Hawaii project management analyst roles are posted by First Hawaiian Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton, and MC&A Destination Management Company and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Defense contractors and state government agencies represent a particularly consistent source of project management analyst openings in Hawaii given the island's large federal presence.
Which Hawaii cities have the most project management analyst jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Hawaii are the cities with the most project management analyst openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates because it is home to the bulk of Hawaii's defense contractors, state agencies, and major healthcare systems, while smaller concentrations in areas like Kailua or Hilo reflect the presence of federal installations and regional government offices that also maintain active project management functions.
Are there remote project management analyst jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 36% of project management analyst openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and coordination work of this role translates to distributed teams. The parts of the role most likely to be fully remote are data reporting, schedule tracking, and stakeholder communications, while in-person presence tends to be required for construction site coordination or hands-on federal project work.
How can I get hired as a project management analyst in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an administrative analyst, program coordinator, or project support role within Hawaii state government or a large healthcare system such as The Queen's Health System or Hawaii Pacific Health. These organizations regularly hire entry-level analysts and provide structured exposure to project documentation and reporting. Completing a CAPM certification and building a portfolio of process improvement or scheduling work, even from coursework or volunteer projects, gives candidates without direct experience a concrete credential that Hawaii employers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to project management analyst jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to project management analyst jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings across industries including defense, healthcare, construction, and state government. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
