Project Manager Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project manager in Idaho?
Idaho does not require a state-issued license to work as a project manager, so the path runs through education and professional certification. Most Idaho employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or construction management, combined with demonstrated project experience. The Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute is the credential that most Idaho job listings treat as a differentiator, particularly in construction, healthcare, and technology roles.
How much do project managers make in Idaho?
Project managers in Idaho earn a median of about $162,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,130 for the lowest 10% to over $219,970 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project managers in Idaho?
Companies currently hiring project managers in Idaho include Burns & McDonnell, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions, and HDR, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's mix of growing technology firms, large hospital networks, and active infrastructure development means project management demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Idaho cities have the most project manager jobs?
Boise, Idaho Falls, and Coeur d'Alene account for the largest share of project manager openings in Idaho. Boise drives the majority of postings as the state's economic and population center, home to technology campuses, major hospital systems, and state government agencies, while Nampa and Idaho Falls generate steady demand through manufacturing, utilities, and regional healthcare expansion.
Are there remote project manager jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 24% of project manager openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the coordination, reporting, and planning work can be done from anywhere. Fully remote opportunities are most common in technology and software implementation roles, while construction and facilities project management positions typically require regular on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a project manager in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a coordinator or analyst role within an organization that already employs you. Idaho's large hospital systems, including St. Luke's and St. Alphonsus, and major employers like Micron Technology and Idaho Power regularly promote from within or hire project coordinators as a structured step before full project manager responsibilities. Completing a CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute, building a portfolio of any project you have led even informally, and targeting project coordinator or project analyst postings directly gives candidates without experience a concrete foothold.
Where can I find and apply to project manager jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to project manager jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings across industries and experience levels. Search the roles that match your background and seniority, then apply directly to the ones that fit your goals and location.
